Pinhole Workshop Follow-Up

The pinhole cameras are built, and the photographers have dispersed to capture their views of Pittsburgh.  Hearty THANKS to Tom Persinger (seen below) for his excellent lecture and introduction to the art of lensless photography.  Tom founded and administrates the forum f295.org which is an excellent resource for all things photographic (which likely extends well beyond what you might think).

Attendees were very complimentary - and we greatly appreciated being able to put on such a well received activity.  Now we are greatly anticipating the photographs that people are able to capture!

To return images, please upload them here:  Doug's iDisk  We'll share and repost.

Take care
Doug, Prakash & Christine

This was a great meeting which connected industrial design & photography from a very meaningful perspective.  We are looking forward to the photo contributions.  For those unable to attend, here are a few more images of what you missed... a special thanks to Doug and Menasha packaging for supplying & creating the kits.  It helped make the event an interactive success!

Lots of love!
Christine

Local photographer, founder of f295.org a lensless and alternative processes photography website and organizer of the annual Alternative Photography Symposium (held at CMU), Tom Persinger will be leading us through construction of our own pinhole cameras and giving us some information about lensless photography. We will use University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's Nick Dvoracek's paper Populist 35mm film Pinhole Camera to learn about and capture pinhole images. Camera kits supplied by Menasha Packaging.

After you've built your camera, go out and shoot! Then return your pictures to us so we can share them with the rest of the IDSA group.

We're really looking forward to this exciting event and finding out how you see Pittsburgh.
See you there!
